Every few days I pick a topic from TipsTree to be featured on the home page, this weeks topic is eBay. From our eBay page we have 5 great tips to share with you today. It’s all about quality not quantity and these 5 are great things to keep in mind when selling with eBay:

  • Andy (that’s me) says “Always, always, always list a photo of your item, preferably more than one from multiple angles. Whenever I’m bidding on an item I’m 100% more likely to bid if it has a real photo of it (not a stock photo!)”

  • StrikerZ followed up with “I completely skip an item without a photo. Just to add to the point Andy made, if your images are of decent quality (eg. good lighting, in focus…) then you’ll probably see better sales than items taken with crap camera phone images.”

  • StrikerZ also says “…another pet peeve of mine is sellers not offering Paypal  . There’s no reason why not to offer it, sellers not offering Paypal as a payment option can kiss my money goodbye.

  • JennyHow (a full time eBayer and blogger) gives her tip; “great customers service and responding to emails on time. Read more on my ebay blog.”

  • Finally, Whiskers advises us to ”Set the opening bid/starting price really low (e.g a dollar); It’ll encourage healthy bidding, thus raising the perceived value and the final price.”

I’d like to thank myself, StrikerZ, JennyHow and Whiskers for contributing to TipsTree dot com:grin:

The next topic to be featured on the home page will be Sleeping. Next Tuesday at 6:00pm (GMT) I’ll pick the best and post them on the home page. Have a good weekend.

I used to be a PowerSeller before I moved to another country, and these things seemed to make a difference between me and other sellers :
- I had a very clean and professional-looking template that I used in my auctions. A few sellers even tried to copy it hot-linking to my images…
- Average time of response was 20 minutes, I had notifications arriving to my mobile phone and they were answered immediately.
- Customers often tried to contact me directly and we were working out some personal deals.
